The first HYLAND Awards for Design, Architecture, Decoration, Photography, Gardening and Contracting were given on May 22nd at an event sponsored by Nest Seekers, the luxury real estate firm. HYLAND, founded byChristopher Hyland and available exclusively on the iPad, honored Geoffrey Bradfield, Mario Buatta, Jamie Drake, Juan Pablo Molyneux, Samuel Botero, Fairfax & Sammons, AGI Architects, Xhema Construction, Durston Saylor and Bunny Mellon. The lifetime achievement award was forPaige Rense, former editor of Architectural Digest.

Approximately 200 people gathered at an event hosted by Ryan Serhant(a star of Bravo's Million Dollar Listing) and Régis Roumila ofNestSeekers at the classically inspired apartment of Christopher Hyland. The fifteen pound HYLAND Awards were created by P.E. Guerin, featuring a ormulu neo-classical head, found in the firm's archives, atop a Thebian style solid walnut base crafted by master furniture maker Eric Chapeau. Life long Rense devotees Pilar Molyneux, Geoffrey Bradfield and Sam Botero accepted the HYLAND Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of Paige Rense. The three-hundred pound sun dial will be placed in her garden in West Palm Beach.

Christopher Hyland summed it up: "these designers fuel the economy, they create jobs, patronize craftspersons, and celebrate the art of our era. They are vital and fundamental to world culture and prosperity."
